Bluemont Fair 2025:
- The annual dinner for Bluemont Fair leadership and BCA members is next Wednesday, September 10, at Bluemont Station, starting at 6:30 p.m.
- Volunteers are still needed for the fair. Contact Cynthia for more information.
- Don’t forget about the 50/50 raffle fundraiser. Buy your tickets now or at the fair.
Treasurer’s Report:
- Invoices have been sent out for sponsorships.
Bluemont Heritage:
- The bicentennial celebration potluck for Snickersville Academy was a highly successful, fun event for all.
- The Loudoun Preservation Society provided a $2500 grant and a representative spoke at the potluck.
- So far, roughly $16,000 has been raised.
Loudoun Historic Village Association:
- The group is working on ways to market the villages.
- A recent meeting featured Welcome Baskets, including one from Bluemont, as a way to share ideas on how to welcome new neighbors and get them involved in their communities.
- A brochure on the villages is in development.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors:
- Volunteers cleared out a path so a neighbor in need would have more accessibility.
- Volunteers continue to work with this neighbor to provide support, as appropriate.
Parks and Recreation:
- There are still spaces available in preschool.
- The “Take a Bow” open mic night will be on October 3, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Bluemont Community Center.
- Bingo Night will take place on September 17 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Snickersville Turnpike Association (STA):
- The newsletter will be in the mail soon.
- Dues letters are going out later this week.
- The new sign will be at Henry’s place and the older sign will be placed near the Aldie side of Snickersville Turnpike.
- The STA will be at the Bluemont Fair again this year and will continue with a stone wall demonstration.
Montessori School news:
- Construction and expansion of the school is ongoing and should be completed in mid-October. Until it is fully completed, the older students are attending class on the second floor of the EE Lake Store.
- The IT provider at the EE Lake store has been changed. The cost is currently $130 per month. Montessori paid for the router. The County is providing some monetary support.
