A National Historic Landmark

Bluemont, Virginia is a bucolic village located just off Route 7. The village contains a mixture of lovely old homes, historic buildings, former schoolhouses, and a number of active businesses. The surrounding neighborhood stretches across the crest of the Blue Ridge (including a length of the Appalachian Trail) and down to the Shenandoah River.

An article featuring Bluemont, ‘It Takes a Village’ (link), can be found in the 2021 Spring/Summer edition of WANDER Magazine (link).  Copies of WANDER will be available at a number of local businesses, including the Bluemont Post Office and Bluemont General Store.

Village of Bluemont’s Tree City USA Application Approved

The Village of Bluemont is now a Tree City USA community! The Virginia Department of Forestry has approved Bluemont’s application.
According to the Arbor Day Foundation Program, the Tree City USA program has been greening up cities and towns across America since 1976. It is a nationwide movement that provides the framework necessary for communities to manage and expand their public trees.
More than 3,500 communities have made the commitment to becoming a Tree City USA.  More information to come!
