Treasurer’s Report:
- A full report with a breakdown of expenses and current balance was given.
- Current total amount in Bank of Clarke County is $85,028.38.
- Investment Accounts ending value as of 6/30/2026 is $57,670.74
Bluemont Fair Report:
- The beautiful new Fair poster was shown to attendees.
- Everyone was encouraged to take some to post around town.
- Any leftover posters, please return to Cynthia before the Fair. They will be sold at the EE Lake store.
- Bluemont Fair postcards and tote bags will be coming soon.
Bugle Newsletter update:
- The newsletter will be out in ten days.
- Bluemont Fair is the primary feature.
- The poster will be prominently shown.
- Cynthia has written an interesting article about the history of the Fair.
Bluemont Heritage:
- VA 250 events have tapered off a bit, so you will see fewer in the weekly announcements.
- The next Bluemont Heritage meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 12. Discussion will include a possible contractor to exterminate fire ants behind the fireplace in the Snickersville Academy.
- Regarding additional interior lighting for the Snickersville Academy, Michael Case, a licensed electrician has offered to assist in the installation.
- Yoga classes at EE lake Store twice a week have been going well.
- We received a donation of an extensive collection of books on native Americans, along with the donation of a bookcase.
- The Loudoun Historic Village Alliance met with County officials who did a presentation to 13 villages and has hired people to work with the villages. They will prioritize and take a few villages at a time. Bluemont is not one of the first group but will have its turn.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors:
- An update about Grace and Thomas was given. Jen will meet with them on Saturday.
- The Tree of Life organization is helping neighbors in need and has a wide variety of support services available.
Snickersville Turnpike Association (STA):

Other updates:
- Exhibition at EE Lake Store: Visitor numbers are down drastically, averaging two visitors each time. We are in need of more docents. Would like to see more volunteers and encourage people to just come and hang out during open hours. We are considering serving light refreshments.
- Eastwind Resort Complex: A discussion about the current issues and challenges of the situation continued. If the developers are permitted to move forward, the rest of the mountains will be fair game.
- Dance Party review: The event was a success with roughly 50 people in attendance. Many new faces were there and people came from all over.
- Coming soon: Hold the date of October 24 for a special event. A group of choral singers from Washington DC will perform and there will also be an art show.
