Meeting called to order: 7:12 PM, Peter Weeks – presiding

President’s Remarks:
Arbor Day was a huge success with 35 trees adopted! It continues to grow in attendance. The 100 year anniversary of the Bluemont School was well attended by the community and the county.
Treasurer’s Report:
We are up from this time last year by 1.5%. Overall cash Total in the bank is $118,964. $1200 in the operating account, $115,000 in the money market, and $2700 in the fair account. The projector was purchased and was used during the meeting with the historical committee. Organization has been renewed through VA for another year and is in good standing. Money to be invested in the CD will be $90K into one CD. The remaining balance will stay in the account for seed money to pay for any costs incurred.
Standing Committees:
• Bluemont Fair
The Art Vote is in! Woman that was chosen to do the artwork is a graphic designer and is still working on the placement of the words and size of graphic.. She is from Bluemont and has been a graphic designer for 15 years. Her name is Michelle Finch.
• Bluemont Heritage
John and Bill are working on the Preservation of Snickersville Academy. They are working on a number for the repairs. Will start at around $5000. Peter said we have the funds to support the project. Peter has received a budget for Tom’s Trail from Marie. She has planted native plants and trees and done a remarkable job with clean up.

• Snickersville Turnpike Association
A double sided sign has been signed off on to commemorate the historic designation of Snickersville Turnpike on the National Historic Places Register. It will be placed on Plaster’s property just inside the stone wall. A non-profit has subsidized the majority of the cost. The sign is on order and we should be receiving it in a few weeks.
Old Business:
- Farmers Market – Opening May 7th 12-5 on Sunday
- 3rd year as Tree City USA
- Tractors were placed in the lawn by the store, working on beautifying the area around the store
- Quilters Exhibition open from 12-3 on Sunday
New Business:
- Jen brought up the idea of coordinating the Museum Exhibit with the Artwork for the fair.
- 8th Annual Spring Fling: New Band Robert Maybe Duo and Blue Water Tavern for the Caterer.
- June 4th ATC Commemoration Ceremony will be held at Bears Den. Some VIP’s will be in attendance. There will be a band, food from Wegmans, and Beer from Bear Chase.
