Call to Order at 7:00 PM: Peter Weeks, presiding

Attendance:  Peter Weeks, Tim Hall, Henry Plaster, Cynthia Morris, Kate Zurschmeide, Hailey Zurschmeide, Mary Marks

President’s Remarks 

The Board Of Supervisors voted 8-1 to deny the AT&T Tower. 😊😊😊

Standing Committees:   

  • Bluemont Fair Cynthia Morris

Over 6,000 paid attendees, will probably clear $40,000 in revenue.

Many compliments on the fair this year.

  • Bluemont Heritage Peter, Kevin

Potluck Dinner at Snickersville Academy – Oct. 10th from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

Community Organizations/Events

  • Loudoun Historic Villages Alliance Peter

The Board Of Supervisors voted to approve the new Philomont Fire Station on the old horse show grounds rather than renovate the present building.  It will be the size of Purcellville’s fire station.  

  • Neighbors Helping Neighbors No Update
  • Community Center/Parks & Rec No Update
  • Snickersville Turnpike Association Henry Plaster

The National Register of Historical Places passed a major milestone as Virginia approved the application. The next step is national approval.  Historical markers have been replaced at White Pump and America’s First Agricultural College in Aldie. 

Old Business

  • VDOT Traffic Calming Meeting Peter, Bill Bogard

First meeting took place via Zoom and more meetings planned.  Accurate vehicle count on Snickersville Turnpike will be scheduled during weekend. 

      • AT&T Tower Update Peter

The Board Of Supervisors voted 8-1 to deny the AT&T Tower. 😊😊😊

      • Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue – Mary Marks

Mary Marks and Lorie Seeley attended training.  Bluemont needs to make a plan and follow up.

New Business:

  • Great Country Farms Events           Zurschmeide’s

3rd Annual Lighting of the Vines to give back to to local charities.  BCA will be one of the featured charities Dec. 23rd-26th and a portion of sales will be donated to the BCA, Friends of Bluemont/Bluemont Heritage (501C).

  • Bluemont Heritage Picnic   Oct. 10           Peter

Potluck Dinner at Snickersville Academy – Oct. 10th from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

There will be music and Dirt Farm is providing kegs.
