Another Winery and Brewery In the Community?
Dear Neighbors,
Last week I was alerted to the fact that Whitehall/Celebrations has filed an application to be approved, in addition to being a wedding facility, to add a winery and brewery to their operations here in Bluemont.
I have been in direct contact with the owners, David Weinschel and Doug Armstrong, who are offering all interested parties an informational tour this coming Monday November 23 at 11:00 AM at Whitehall.
Please come and bring your questions…if you can’t be there, pass along your questions to a neighbor or myself.
My primary concerns are how they will handle traffic, noise, and safety. It seems like some of our local wineries and breweries are working well with the community, while there have been complaints about others.
David has assured me that their enterprise will be high-end and community-minded.
Quote from David: “Our Facebook group and Instagram following shows some great insight about our philosophy at Celebrations Farm and contains our definition of “Agri-cultured”, which is the concept behind everything that we do on the farm. As I mentioned on the phone, we represent a more sophisticated clientele and our look and flair shows the essence of what makes us a more distinguished farm environment. We share in your love of the land and natural beauty of the area and have spent the last 25 years working extremely hard to help to keep our farm as the iconic and welcoming view from route 7 and also being community minded neighbors.”
Keep in mind that November 30th is the deadline for filing any objection with the ABC licensing authority.
I’m hopeful that we can work cooperatively, so we can be supportive of local businesses while preserving our cherished village.
All the best,
