In Attendance: Peter Weeks, Barbara and Bill Bogard, Lori Seeley, Paul Tabler, Cynthia Morris, Henry Plaster, Dave Ewald, Judy and Tim Hall, John Sullivan, Tom Rust, Scott and Lisa Seeberger, Gail Kelly                

Meeting Called to Order at 7:00 PM: Peter Weeks, presiding

Treasurer’s Report/Budget

Tim Hall – See Attached Report

      • Upcoming audit for BCA will be conducted by Tim Hall, Peter Weeks and Lori Seeley 
      • BCA and Bluemont Heritage Association (BHA) accounts will be separated.

Standing Committees   

Bluemont Fair – Cynthia Morris, Jen Stone

      • 2021 Theme will be Farmers Market (Vegetable Produce)
      • Details for art contest on BCA and Bluemont Fair websites (voting will take place second week in April).
      • Dave Ewald added all former Bluemont Fair posters to website.
      • Social Media Chair – Gina Capone
      • Art Show Chair – Shauna Seamans
      • Gate Chair – John Constant (Chip Sterritt Lauren Stevens will help at the gate).

Bluemont Heritage – Peter Weeks, Kevin Hart

      • Upcoming exhibition: Education in Bluemont in the 19th and 20th Centuries.
      • Committee members:  Peter Weeks, Kevin Hart, Lori Seeley, Lisa and Scott Seeberger
      • While searching for historical information and artifacts many photos related to Bluemont are being discovered.  Kevin Hart is currently archiving.  Will have comprehensive research into schools.
      • Edwin Washington Project (run by Larry Reuter).  Considering putting up marker indicating former location of Bluemont Colored School (building is no longer there). Donations for this organization are appreciated (https://edwinwashingtonproject.org)

Community Organizations/Events

Loudoun Historic Villages Alliance – Peter Weeks, Bill Board

      • Bill Bogard is participating in zoning rewrite
      • Meeting held in February and Peter was struck by county’s openness “to protect and preserve”.  Although Bluemont is an unincorporated entity, it now has a voice and they’re trying to put it into writing.  Bill Bogard brings expertise while Peter brings enthusiasm. 
      • Bluemont Shamrock Race 5K and 10K Virtual Race will be help March 12th-14th (www.bluemontshamrockrace.com) Please support it!

Snickersville Turnpike Association – Henry Plaster

      • Next meeting is March 16th.

Old Business:

    • Lake Store Leasing – Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers leasing 2nd Floor

New Business:

    • Bradford House Renovation will begin in 2-3 weeks and completed in 7 months.  Barbara and Bill Bogard are requesting any historical photos of the house (even if the house is only in the background) to assist in renovation.
