Meeting Minutes
Call to Order at 7:00 PM: Peter Weeks, presiding
Attendance: Peter Weeks, Kevin Hart, Henry Plaster, John Constant, Hailey Zurschmeide, Judy Anderson, Bill Bogard, Becca Rally, Scott and Lisa Seeburger, Tim Hall
President’s Remarks
Treasurer’s Report Tim Hall
Financial report will be later in December.
Tim is retiring as treasurer and we are conducting search for new bookkeeper immediately.
Standing Committees:

2022 Membership Drive is underway to help support upcoming exhibition at Plaster Museum. The exhibition will feature Agriculture and Farming in Bluemont during the 19th and 20th Centuries.
Community Organizations/Events
- Loudoun Historic Villages Alliance Peter
Talks broke down in Aldie to purchase Aldie Assemblage
Chuck Kuhn is planning to purchase and preserve contested area in St. Louis
Philomont Firehouse Plan is under review (not finalized yet due to pushback)
- Neighbors Helping Neighbors Peter
Laura Sullivan is coordinating program to help support local residents during the holidays with gift cards and presents for their children.
In addition, the Bluemont Methodist Church is sponsoring and supporting local children and families for the holidays.
BCA made donations to Tree of Life, Loudoun Hunger Relief, Good Shepherd and the United Methodist Churches
- Community Center/Parks & Rec Sheri
Bluemont Community Center – Lighting of the Tree on December 10th. Festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. and Lighting of the Tree is at 5:00 p.m.
- Snickersville Turnpike Association Henry Plaster
Fence near the Battle of Aldie Civil War Monument was knocked down due to a vehicle crash and will be replaced.
White Pump historic monument is also being replaced due to deterioration.
Old Business
- VDOT Traffic Calming Meetings Peter, Bill Bogard
Studying alternatives to slow traffic in Bluemont
- Village Planning Commission Peter, Bill
Zoning ordinance is currently under review. The county asked the BCA to prepare a “small area plan” as required by the 2019 Comprehensive Plan. This will help Bluemont retain its rural character.
New Business:
- Bluemont Vineyard Fundraiser in Dec. Zurschmeide’s,
December 23rd – 31st – Fundraiser will be for Bluemont Heritage. Cynthia Morris volunteered to be the contact person. Dave Ewald will help coordinate communications about the event.
Dirt Farm Brewery Zurschmeide’s,
December 26th – “Brews for a Cause” will be a fundraiser for Bluemont
- BCA Elections in January Peter
Openings for Treasurer and Secretary. Elections are always the first Wednesday in January.
