The ABC Board granted two licenses to the Whitehall/Celebrations to operate as both a winery and a brewery. Marvin Watts, who represented the 29 objectors at the ABC hearing last month, reported that there were some significant stipulations regarding noise level limits, traffic flow, and hours of operation.
The President of the ABC Board made clear that his agency will respond to any legitimate complaints regarding issues of noise and traffic. A formal citizen complaint must precede any investigation into violations. He also emphasized that licenses are renewed annually based on acceptable performance standards.
The owners of Whitehall/Celebrations have repeatedly said they wish to remain “a good neighbor” in Bluemont and are open to feedback if problems arise.
